Chagrin Valley Little Theatre's Annual Variety Show Moves to October - 10/13/08
CHAGRIN FALLS, OH - Each year since 2002, Chagrin Valley Little Theatre has presented a showcase of local talents. Previous years' acts have included musicians, vocalists, actors, storytellers, martial artists, comedians, and dancers. The 2008 Variety Show is expected to offer more of the same family-friendly entertainment, with the major change being the performance date itself. The last five Variety Shows have been put on in February, but this year the Theatre has decided to present the show on October 18th. The decision to move the show earlier in the season allows CVLT to fill a break between two other special events (the highly successful Guys & Dolls: In Concert! and Ghosts, Goblins & Gobbledygook, the annual Halloween show for children on October 25/26), while loosening up the early 2009 calendar for larger productions.
This year's show is scheduled to include several return performers who have been a hit with previous years' audiences. The evening will showcase banjo player Larry Calhoun, storyteller Allen Frederickson, vocalists Margo Fire, Holly Prather, and rising young star Tia Karaplis. Other acts include dramatic performances from the RSVP Players and CVLT director Don Edelman, a drum duet featuring Rollin DeVere Jr., the Chagrin Valley Tap Divas, and the CVLT Womens' Committee.
The Sixth Annual CVLT Variety Show will begin at 7:30 PM on Saturday, October 18th. Tickets are $14 regular admission, or $10 for students and seniors. Tickets for this and other CVLT shows and events can be purchased online at www.CVLT.org, or by calling the Box Office at 440-247-8955 between 1 and 6 PM, Monday through Saturday. Season subscriptions for CVLT's 79th Season are available.
Chagrin Valley Little Theatre is generously funded by Cuyahoga County residents through Cuyahoga Arts and Culture and is supported by the Ohio Arts Council. CVLT was voted 'Best Community Theatre' by Cleveland Magazine Readers, and 'Best Theatre Group' on the Fox 8 HotList in 2007
