About the Murder By The Falls
When there's something strange in your neighborhood, who ya gonna call?
Murder by the Falls kicks off each new season at CVLT with an original audience-participation comedy/mystery. Money raised from this highly popular event goes to the general operating expenses of the theatre.
People (Detectives) will be grouped 8 per squad. You may chose your fellow Detectives or the Chief (CVLT) will assign your partners for you. You and your team will compete for prizes, searching the Village for clues, and helping our intrepid detectives to solve the crime! Space is limited and tickets always sell fast! Get yours today!
- 7:15 - Hors d’oeuvres and beer/wine cash bar at the Theatre
- 8:00 - Act I, in which the mystery is revealed.
- 8:45 - Your team search for clues in the windows of stores in the Village and interviews characters on the street.
- 9:15 - Return to 'Headquarters' for catered dessert as your team decides on a solution to the mystery
- 10:00 – Act II – The criminal is uncovered and prizes are awarded to the team who was closest to the answer!
Who Ya Gonna Call?
Directed by Greta Rothman
Written by Andrew & Greta Rothman
Featuring award-winning novelist Les Roberts!
Every theatre has its ghost stories and CVLT is no different. Over the years, the resident spirit has been handy in making lost props reappear, repairing costumes, unsticking paint cans, and generally helping out in unexpected and mysterious ways.
But lately, things have changed; light bulbs are breaking, doors are being locked, buckets are upturned, makeup and shoes are being ruined . . . clearly the ghost suddenly wants to get the attention of everyone. When an overzealous reporter writes about it in the local paper, the theater is beset with kooky paranormal investigators who all want to make contact.
While the cast satirizes every "ghost-hunter reality show" and "haunting movie" in the book, Inspector Gotcha and Detective Ketchum of the local police ask audiences to help them figure out exactly what the ghost is trying to communicate, as it just might point to a crime!
…with special appearances by:
- Mayor Tom Brick (Chagrin Falls)
- Mayor Matt Brett (South Russell)
- Mayor Leonard Spremulli (Bentleyville)
- Chief James Brosius, Chagrin Falls Police
- Sheriff Daniel McClelland, Geauga County
PLUS! Members of the Munroe Falls Paranormal Society will be on hand, displaying sophisticated hardware and other information on their organization and their real-world paranormal investigations.
