About the Project

Chagrin Valley Little Theatre will be presenting a series of 10-minute, one-act plays as part of its 79th Season. The team is now accepting script submissions for consideration!

If your submission is chosen, your play will be performed tentatively in June/July 2009, at the River Street Playhouse a "black box" environment which seats approximately 60 patrons. Playwrights whose scripts are chosen will be contacted later this year.

Submission Guidelines

  1. You must be 18 years or older to submit a manuscript.
  2. Scripts must be complete. Scenes from a full-length production or from other works cannot be accepted.
  3. Your show should have an estimated production “running time” of 10-12 minutes.
  4. Your script must be original – CVLT will not accept responsibility for copyright violations.
  5. Scripts must be submitted via hard copy. Electronic submissions cannot be accepted. Plays must be postmarked no later than September 1, 2008.
  6. Please include a cover page which details your contact information - ensure all contact information is current.
  7. Do not send your only copy of the manuscript, as no manuscripts can be returned.
  8. Send your submission to:

  9. You may submit no more than 2 scripts under your authorship.
  10. CVLT reserves the right to choose directors for each play. You may not direct your own production.
  11. CVLT cannot compensate you for your submission, nor will you receive compensation if your script is chosen for production.
